Cabinet hinge guide
How to identify a cabinet hinge
Start with the cabinet, not the logo. A clear view of the door edge, hinge cup and cabinet-side mounting is more useful than a partial stamped number.
Check the construction
Face-frame cabinets have a solid wood frame visible around the opening. Frameless cabinets use the cabinet side itself as the mounting surface. That distinction changes the hinge and plate options.
Then measure the cup
Most modern concealed hinges use a 35 mm cup in the back of the door. Record the cup diameter, the distance between screw holes, arm shape and overlay. Take a note of all markings, but do not treat a casting number as an orderable part number.
For a blank record to take to the cabinet, use the printable hinge field sheet.
Once you have those details, open the Cabinet Hinge Finder to record what you know and see where more evidence is needed.

Use the drawings as schematics, not drilling templates. Record what is actually installed before looking up a replacement. The same cup size or a familiar stamp does not prove that a new hinge will fit.
Bench checklist
- Photograph the complete hinge, door cup, cabinet-side plate and every marking before removal.
- Record face-frame or frameless construction, and whether the closed door is overlay or inset.
- Mark the closed door edge; open the door and measure from that mark to the opening edge. Record the overlay with units.
- Measure cup diameter and door screw-center spacing; note screw-on or press-in fixing.
- Transcribe the full cabinet-side plate number and count its existing frame holes. Note any spacer or adapter.
- Compare the complete configuration with manufacturer instructions. If the plate, overlay or hole treatment is uncertain, stop at identification; do not order from the stamp alone.
Worked case / COMPACT 33
DIRECT only for verified two-hole cases: screw-on 33.3600 plus old edge plate 130.1100.23, 12.7 mm (1/2 in) overlay, face frame, 35 mm cup and 45 mm door screw centers maps to screw-on 38N355B.08. Blum says the existing cup and two frame-hole positions are reused; new #8 × 3/4-in truss-head frame screws are required. One-hole and press-in variants are outside this case.

Worked case / Grass 830
RETROFIT, not a drop-in swap: on a confirmed face-frame, two-piece TEC 830 installation with a 35 mm cup, cabinet-side plate 830-37 and verified 25.4 mm (1 in) overlay, Grass's chart lists TEC 864 self-close 04395-15. The cup bore and cabinet-frame holes can be reused, but new door-side screw holes are required. A bare 830 cup stamp does not establish this mapping.
