Blum COMPACT 33: identify the plate before replacing the hinge
COMPACT 33 was a two-piece concealed hinge for face-frame cabinets and was discontinued in 2023. The old cabinet-side plate determined overlay. Confirm the screw-on hinge 33.3600, the complete number on its two-hole edge-mount plate, a 35 mm cup with 45 mm door screw spacing, and the measured overlay. A Blum stamp or partial component number alone does not select a replacement.
What replaces these seven configurations?
Blum documents replacement of COMPACT 33 with COMPACT 38N for partial overlay or COMPACT 39C for full overlay. The specific screw-on models below follow Blum's old plate/overlay table and current hinge catalog.

What to check before ordering
- Verify the complete old plate number; COMPACT 33 used different plates for different overlays.
- Check that the old cup is screw-on 33.3600, not a press-in variant. These part numbers are for current screw-on hinges.
- Check a face-frame cabinet, 35 mm cup, 45 mm door screw pattern, and door clearance. The old hinge opened 110°; current 38N models open 105°, while 39C models open 110°.
- Replace or assess hinges consistently on each door and trial-fit before ordering a full set.
Cases not covered by the table
Blum's instructions show that COMPACT 31 rotates the cup, leaving old door holes visible and requiring new door screws. A COMPACT 33 installation with a one-hole frame plate needs a new frame hole. Blum also publishes a separate 38B face-mount procedure with shifted frame screw locations. Those cases require a different installation assessment; this page does not assign them a plate-to-model match or call them drop-in.
